Prof. Shihui Han and the Culture and Social Cognitive Neuroscience lab study cultural and genetic influences on psychological and neural mechanisms underlying social cognition and social behavior by integrating social/cultural psychology and brain imaging such as fMRI/EEG/MEG. Their research aims to clarify how the brain represents self-related information (self-referential processing), how the brain understands and shares others’ emotion (empathy), and how the brain processes death-related information and the related effects on other social cognitive/affective processes.
